About the Role
We are looking for a practical, hands-on Power Platform & AI Solutions Developer to help our client—a leading provider of specialized chemical products and industrial solutions—transform and modernize their internal business operations.
This is not a high-level advisory or strategy-only role. It is a builder's role designed for someone who can look at a messy, manual business process, design a practical solution, and directly build, test, and deploy it.
You will work closely with internal operations, production, quality, finance, and customer care teams to optimize existing systems, eliminate manual data entry, build robust Power BI reporting, and introduce intelligent AI automations using the Microsoft ecosystem.
Schedule
-
Monday to Friday, flexible within Sydney business hours (40 hours/week)
Key Responsibilities
- Data & Analytics (Power BI): Build, maintain, and enhance interactive Power BI dashboards that give leadership and operational teams clear visibility into sales, production, quality control, inventory, and finance.
- Process Automation & Apps: Design and build custom, low-code operational applications using Power Apps and streamline cross-department workflows using Power Automate.
- Intelligent AI Integration: Implement practical AI solutions using Copilot Studio and Microsoft AI tools to accelerate internal processes and automate routine administrative inquiries.
- M336 / Data Architecture: Build and structure reliable backend data storage using Microsoft Lists, SharePoint, Dataverse, and SQL.
- ERP & Systems Integration: Connect disparate business systems—including ERP platforms (Sage 300), Azure databases, and B2B eCommerce portals—via APIs and custom connectors to ensure unified data flow across manufacturing and distribution.
- Digital Mentorship & Capability Building: Support and upskill non-technical team members on basic Power Platform tools to encourage digital adoption while documenting all solutions for ongoing maintainability and governance.
- Specialist Collaboration: Partner effectively with external backend specialists (SQL, Azure, web, integrations) when complex, heavy-coded technical projects arise.
Candidate Qualifications & Technical Requirements
Core Technical Mastery (Required):
- Microsoft Power Platform: Advanced expertise in Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps.
- Microsoft 365 Ecosystem: Strong command of SharePoint architecture, Microsoft Lists, and Azure/M365 security best practices.
- AI & Automation Tools: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, prompt engineering, and operational AI tools.
Desirable Technical Experience (Highly Regarded):
- Experience with relational databases (SQL / Dataverse) and API integrations (REST APIs, custom connectors).
- Familiarity with enterprise software platforms: ERP systems (specifically Sage 300), industrial/manufacturing workflows, and B2B eCommerce portals.
- Scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or DAX / Power Query M.
Mindset & Soft Skills:
- Pragmatic Problem Solver: You prioritize simple, sustainable solutions over unnecessary technical complexity.
- Business Acumen: Ability to translate non-technical business problems (e.g., tracking batch production, inventory reconciliation, order handling) into technical requirements.
- Independent & Autonomous: Proactive in identifying process bottlenecks and bringing solutions to life with minimal oversight.
- Clear Communicator: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with an ability to train and collaborate with non-technical stakeholders.
Independent Contractor Perks
- Health Insurance coverage for eligible locations
- Permanent work from home
- Immediate hiring
