Job Overview
Our client is looking for an experienced Part-Time SEO Specialist with a focus on Technical SEO, On-Page SEO, Content Strategy, and Content Writing. The role involves managing organic search visibility, traffic, rankings, and conversions for an Australian audience. The ideal candidate will independently audit WordPress websites, execute technical improvements, develop content strategies, and collaborate closely with the Social Media Specialist to form a cohesive digital marketing strategy.
Schedule
Part-time, Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM Queensland Time (20 work hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Technical SEO: Perform WordPress website audits, resolve crawlability/indexability issues, optimize sitemaps, robots.txt, schema, and site structure. Monitor Core Web Vitals, fix broken links/404s, address keyword cannibalization, and implement technical recommendations directly in WordPress.
- On-Page SEO: Conduct keyword and search intent research. Optimize page titles, meta descriptions, headings, URLs, internal links, and content for service and landing pages to improve CTR and organic rankings.
- SEO Content Strategy: Develop content pillars, topic clusters, briefs, and calendars targeting Australian audiences. Perform competitor content-gap analysis and identify opportunities across blogs, service pages, and commercial content.
- SEO Content Writing: Write and edit high-quality, authoritative SEO content and website copy. Optimize existing articles and effectively leverage AI tools while ensuring accurate, original, and engaging messaging.
- Cross-Channel Alignment: Partner with the Social Media Specialist and client to align messaging, share audience/keyword insights, and maintain a unified digital marketing strategy.
- Analytics & Reporting: Track performance via Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, and keyword ranking tools. Deliver clear, actionable reports focused on business outcomes.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on SEO experience.
- Proven, mandatory experience working within WordPress and optimizing for the Australian search market.
- Strong expertise in technical SEO, on-page optimization, content strategy, and search intent analysis.
- Experienced writing authoritative SEO content.
- Proficiency in Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, and professional SEO platforms (e.g., Ahrefs, Semrush, Moz).
Qualifications
- Experience with Australian service-based businesses, local SEO, multi-location strategies, or website migrations.
- Familiarity with Core Web Vitals, basic HTML/CSS, schema tools, and AI writing assistants.
