AU Senior Accountant (CA/CPA)
Job Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced AU Senior Accountant (CA/CPA) to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, including cashflow reporting, bank reconciliations, general ledger management, and balance sheet reconciliations. You will play a vital role in ensuring financial accuracy, month-end and year-end closing processes, compliance, and Australian accounting standards across internal and external stakeholders.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM AEST (40 work hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Daily EFT processing and cash receipting.
- Preparation of daily cashflow reports and assistance with budgets and cashflow forecasts.
- Bank and credit card reconciliations, including investigation and resolution of variances.
- Management of supplier payment runs.
- Creation, posting, and review of general ledger entries and transactions.
- Month-end and EOFY reconciliations, including general journals, intercompany journals, accruals, prepayments, and associated schedules.
- Maintenance of the group's fixed asset registers.
- Timely and accurate reconciliation of all balance sheet items.
- Compliance reporting for key internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaising with internal teams and external parties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Accounting or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience within an accounts team.
- CA/CPA qualified or currently progressing toward qualification.
- Solid understanding of Australian accounting standards, tax regulations, and EOFY compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines with minimal supervision.
- High attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel.
