Job Overview
The Litigation Research Analyst provides high-level research and administrative support to attorneys and management in a full-time remote role. The position primarily focuses on U.S. legal research, analyzing case law, and preparing litigation support materials such as research memos and chronologies. Additionally, you will handle administrative tasks including scheduling, multi-time-zone meeting coordination, and travel arrangements. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills who can work independently while collaborating across global time zones.
Schedule: Mon-Fri, flexible within AZ business hours (40 hrs per week)
Responsibilities
1. Legal Research & Litigation Support (Approximately 80%)
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using Lexis and other legal research resources to support U.S. litigation matters.
- Review and analyze case law, statutes, regulations, and legal authorities to identify relevant legal principles and precedents.
- Prepare clear, concise research memoranda, case summaries, chronologies, and litigation support materials for attorney review.
- Analyze historical litigation, court decisions, and legal strategies to identify trends and lessons applicable to current matters.
- Organize legal research, authorities, and supporting documentation for efficient use by attorneys.
- Continuously develop knowledge of U.S. legal procedures, mass tort litigation, and relevant practice areas.
2. Administrative & Executive Support (Approximately 20%)
- Maintain organized electronic files, research databases, and legal documentation using Microsoft Office and other firm systems.
- Coordinate meetings across multiple time zones and assist with scheduling for attorneys and management.
- Monitor email correspondence, prioritize urgent matters, and assist with communications as directed.
- Coordinate travel arrangements, accommodations, and detailed travel itineraries.
- Provide general administrative support to assist with the efficient operation of the legal team.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Must-Have Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or recent graduate) in Law, Legal Studies, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, or another analytical discipline.
- Experience supporting U.S. attorneys or U.S. litigation.
- Experience with mass tort or class action litigation.
- Familiarity with Lexis+, Westlaw, or Bloomberg Law.
- Experience preparing litigation chronologies and document summaries.
- Experience working remotely with U.S.-based legal teams.
- Strong AI research skills (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or other AI-assisted research tools) while understanding the need to verify legal authorities.
- Strong legal research, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information and present findings in a clear, organized, and concise manner.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent written and spoken English with professional business communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Experience using legal research platforms such as Lexis is preferred. Training will be provided.
