Accounts Payable Officer (AU & Singapore)

Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented  Accounts Payable Officer. The ideal candidate has a solid accounting background, excellent communication skills, and proven experience supporting businesses operating in both Australia and Singapore.

This role requires someone who can work independently, communicate confidently with internal and external stakeholders, and maintain a high level of accuracy while managing multiple priorities. The successful candidate must be fully committed to this position.

Client Overview

Our client is a leading business in the horticulture industry, specializing in the cultivation and sale of premium indoor plants. They are seeking a reliable and experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join their finance team and play a key role in supporting day-to-day financial operations.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM SGT, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (Primary Responsibility)

  • Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify invoices against purchase orders and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and process supplier payments in accordance with payment schedules.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies promptly.
  • Liaise professionally with vendors regarding invoice, payment, and account-related queries.
  • Ensure all Accounts Payable transactions comply with company policies and financial controls.

Accounts Receivable Support

  • Generate customer invoices accurately and on time.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with collection follow-ups.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Respond professionally to customer account enquiries.

Financial Operations

  • Maintain accurate financial records within the accounting system.
  • Perform account reconciliations and ensure data integrity.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, including journal entries and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare documentation required for internal and external audits.
  • Support the finance team with financial reporting and ad hoc accounting tasks.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain organized digital financial records and documentation.
  • Assist with process improvements and finance administration.
  • Provide additional support to the Operations and Finance teams as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with at least 3 years of Accounts Payable or Accounting Officer experience.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end Accounts Payable processes, including reconciliations and financial controls.
  • Experience supporting businesses in both Australian and Singaporean accounting environments, with exposure to GST processes preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems, plus advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with multi-entity or international businesses and supporting month-end/year-end financial close is preferred.
  • Strong English communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Highly detail-oriented, proactive, dependable, and accountable, with a commitment to confidentiality, continuous improvement, and delivering quality work in a fast-paced environment.
