Job Overview

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Construction Estimator (Residential & Commercial) to support quantity surveying and cost analysis for their building projects. In this role, you will analyze architectural plans, perform accurate material take-offs, and develop project schedules to ensure projects remain profitable and on track.

Schedule

• Flexible Schedule (20 hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed quantity surveying ("Quants") for residential and commercial construction projects.
• Break down job requirements into specific material lists, such as tonnages for rebar.
• Review architect plans and assign accurate pricing to every phase of the project.
• Develop project schedules to track progress across multiple phases.
• Estimate costs specifically to ensure the firm maintains a healthy profit margin.
• Identify opportunities to source materials or labor efficiently to lower project overhead.
• Maintain regular communication with the firm to update project estimates as plans change.

Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client-facing interactions.
• Proven experience in construction estimation or as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Ability to interpret complex architectural drawings and engineering plans remotely.
• Strong analytical skills for material quantity take-offs and cost breakdown.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software and general digital tools.
• Detail-oriented approach to project scheduling and material forecasting.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
