Email Marketing Specialist

Job Overview 
The Email Marketing Specialist will own strategy, creation, deployment, and optimization of email campaigns across client accounts.

This role requires both creativity and analytical thinking. You’ll collaborate with paid media, automation, and account teams to ensure every campaign supports a larger growth strategy.

You are not just sending newsletters. You are driving conversions, engagement, and customer lifetime value.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST | With 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)

Core Responsibilities

Campaign Strategy & Execution

    • Develop and execute email marketing strategies aligned with client goals
    • Build promotional campaigns, newsletters, and automated nurture sequences
    • Create reactivation and retention campaigns
    • Write compelling subject lines and conversion-focused email copy

Automation & Lifecycle Marketing

    • Build and optimize automated workflows (welcome series, abandoned cart, lead nurture, post-purchase follow-up)
    • Segment audiences based on behavior, engagement, and lifecycle stage
    • Improve open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates
    • Align email sequences with CRM pipelines and sales processes

Performance & Optimization

    • Monitor KPIs: open rates, CTR, conversion rate, revenue per send
    • Conduct A/B testing (subject lines, content, send times, CTAs)
    • Analyze campaign performance and recommend improvements
    • Optimize deliverability and inbox placement

Segmentation & Personalization

    • Build and manage audience segments
    • Implement behavioral triggers and dynamic content
    • Maintain list hygiene and suppression management
    • Reduce churn and increase subscriber engagement

Collaboration

    • Work with the paid media team to support funnel follow-up
    • Coordinate with the GoHighLevel Implementer on automation builds
    • Collaborate with designers for email templates and visual assets
    • Support account managers with strategic campaign planning

Platforms & Tools

    • GoHighLevel (primary platform)
    • Apollo.io
    • Basic understanding of CRM systems
    • Google Analytics / reporting tools

Qualifications

Required:

    • 2+ years of hands-on email marketing experience
    • Proven track record improving engagement and conversion metrics
    • Strong copywriting skills
    • Experience with segmentation and lifecycle marketing
    • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data

Preferred:

    • Agency experience
    • Experience in service-based businesses
    • Familiarity with SMS marketing integration
    • Understanding of sales funnels and customer journeys
    • Basic HTML knowledge for email formatting
