Social Media Specialist

Job Overview:

Our client is looking for a Social Media Specialist to take complete ownership of the digital marketing strategy for a growing dry cleaning business, transforming their online presence from the ground up. In this role, you will build and execute a comprehensive social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Google, and other key platforms while creating engaging content that drives real business results. This highly independent position offers creative freedom to post and engage when audiences are most active, including weekends, while collaborating with the team during UK business hours as needed.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 4 hours per day UK Timezone; Flexible within client's business hours, 20 work hours per week

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a structured digital marketing strategy tailored to the dry cleaning industry.
  • Manage all social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, and Google Business Profile.
  • Create diverse content types, including videos, reels, posts, and carousels, to drive engagement.
  • Plan and execute Meta ads campaigns to grow brand awareness and customer acquisition.
  • Grow a follower base strategically by targeting the correct local audience, not just vanity metrics.
  • Optimize SEO to improve search rankings and local discoverability.
  • Implement GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) strategies to ensure the business appears in AI-powered search results across platforms like ChatGPT and Google AI.
  • Provide daily progress reports outlining completed tasks and priorities for the following day.
  • Take full ownership of the digital marketing strategy with the creative freedom to build something from the ground up and directly see the impact of your work.
  • Collaborate with a small, growing team that values professional expertise, with month-to-month flexibility and the opportunity to expand hours based on performance.

Requirements:

  • 2 to 5 years of proven experience as a Social Media Specialist or Digital Marketing professional.
  • Demonstrated expertise in social media management across Instagram, TikTok, and Google platforms.
  • Strong portfolio showing previous content creation work and measurable results.
  • Proficiency in Meta Ads management and campaign optimization.
  • Solid understanding of SEO principles and implementation.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear daily updates.
  • Availability to work flexible hours within the UK timezone, including some weekend postings.
  • A work portfolio relevant to this role

Nice to have:

  • Experience with GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) for AI search platforms.
  • Previous experience working with service-based or local businesses.
  • Understanding of the dry cleaning or hospitality service industry.
  • Experience growing social media accounts from early stages.
