Job Description

You will take raw video footage and transform it into polished, engaging Instagram Reels that capture attention and drive audience engagement. This role gives you creative ownership over the editing process, allowing you to showcase your skills while supporting a growing brand's social media strategy. You'll work independently with flexible hours, delivering content that's ready to publish and designed to perform.

Schedule

• Flexible during client business hours; Australian Central Standard Time (ACST); 20hrs per week

Responsibilities

• Edit raw video footage into polished Instagram Reels ready for publication
• Apply cuts, transitions, effects, and audio enhancements to create engaging short-form content Ensure all edited videos align with brand style and social media best practices
• Prepare content in advance for the week or days ahead according to the publishing schedule
• Maintain consistent quality and turnaround times across all video deliverables
• Adapt editing style based on content goals and audience engagement patterns
• Communicate proactively about project status and any technical requirements
• Stay current with Instagram trends and short-form video editing techniques

Must-Have Requirements

• 2-5 years of professional video editing experience
• Proven portfolio demonstrating social media video editing work, particularly Instagram Reels or similar short-form content
• Proficiency with video editing software (CapCut or equivalent platforms)
• Strong understanding of pacing, storytelling, and engagement hooks for social media
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Reliable internet connection and appropriate hardware for video editing work
• Excellent communication skills and responsiveness

Nice-to-Have Requirements

• Bonus if you have experience editing content for training or educational brands
• It helps if you're familiar with Instagram's algorithm and content performance metrics
