Job Description:
You will be the driving force behind building and maintaining a seamless multi-platform e-commerce presence. This role puts you in control of migrating inventory from eBay to Shopify, maintaining accurate product listings across platforms, and establishing the social media foundation that will drive customers directly to the website. You'll work directly with the business owner as a trusted extension of their team, taking ownership of the day-to-day digital operations so they can focus on revenue generation and family time.
Client Overview:
Our client is a growing US-based ecommerce business specializing in generator sales. They currently operate primarily on eBay with approximately 400 generator sales annually and are expanding their digital presence by launching a Shopify storefront and building out social media channels to drive direct traffic and reduce platform dependency.
Schedule:
- Mondays to Fridays, 1:00 to 5:00 pm (US Eastern Time, 20 hours per week)
Responsibilities:
- Migrate existing eBay inventory to Shopify by extracting product photos, copying descriptions, and creating consistent listings
- Maintain synchronized inventory across eBay and Shopify platforms, including adding new listings weekly
- Update pricing and remove sold items promptly across all platforms based on the owner's direction
- Manage and optimize the Shopify storefront to improve user experience and product presentation
- Create and post organic social media content 2-3 times per week to drive traffic to the Shopify site
- Handle initial customer inquiries and requests from social channels using templated responses
- Set up and maintain presence on additional e-commerce platforms, including WooCommerce
- Provide strategic recommendations based on e-commerce and social media best practices
Must-Have Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of proven e-commerce experience with a portfolio demonstrating previous work
- Strong Shopify expertise, including product migration, listing creation, and storefront management
- Experience managing eBay stores and understanding platform-specific requirements
- Social media management experience with the ability to create engaging organic content
- Demonstrated ability to follow directions precisely and work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate inventory across multiple platforms
- Experience working with American companies and understanding US ecommerce practices
- Reliable and trustworthy with the ability to handle sensitive login credentials and business information
Nice-to-Have Requirements:
- Bonus if you have experience in the construction, industrial equipment, or generator industries
- It helps if you're familiar with the WooCommerce platform setup and management
- Bonus if you have experience with other e-commerce platforms beyond eBay and Shopify
- It helps if you have basic graphic design skills for creating social media content
