Job Overview:
Our client is looking for an Outbound Sales Development Representative (Security Services) to drive new business development for a rapidly growing security detection company by identifying untapped market opportunities and opening doors with decision-makers. This is a hunter role where you'll research target prospects, execute outbound campaigns, and set qualified meetings that directly impact company revenue. You'll work closely with the founder to develop market strategies and will have significant autonomy to explore creative approaches in niche security markets. Your success will be measured by your ability to identify viable prospects and convert them into scheduled meetings and proposals.
Client Overview:
Our client is a specialized US-based security and detection services company providing explosive and narcotics detection services to high-profile clients including theme parks, corporate facilities, and event venues. They work with law enforcement veterans and certified trainers to deliver premium-quality detection services across multiple sectors. The company is experiencing rapid growth and recently secured major contracts with national entertainment venues.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, PST (20 work hours per week)
Responsibilities:
- Research and build targeted lists of viable prospects in untapped market segments including corporate facilities, entertainment venues, religious institutions, educational facilities, rehabilitation centers, and private event spaces
- Execute outbound email campaigns using template letters customized to prospect needs and follow up with phone calls to decision-makers
- Clearly communicate the company's premium quality and unique value proposition including law enforcement expertise and specialized detection capabilities
- Think critically and identify creative market opportunities beyond traditional security applications
- Provide detailed daily and weekly communication on pipeline status, prospect engagement, and meeting outcomes
- Schedule and coordinate meetings between qualified prospects and company leadership
- Perform data entry tasks including mileage tracking and training record updates in Excel or Google Sheets
- Maintain accurate records of all outreach activities, responses, and next steps in organized format
Requirements:
- Proven sales development or appointment setting experience with strong track record of opening new business
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills with ability to clearly articulate complex security concepts
- Ability to think strategically and identify non-obvious market opportunities in niche industries
- Comfortable making high-volume outbound calls and emails with persistence through rejection
- Strong research skills to identify decision-makers and qualify prospects independently
- Willingness to learn about specialized security and detection services industry
- Self-directed work style with ability to provide proactive updates on progress
Qualifications:
- Bonus if you have previous experience in security, law enforcement, or B2B services sales
