Data Entry and Research Assistant
Overview
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Data Entry and Research Assistant to support a research project building a comprehensive database of U.S. megachurches for marketing and outreach campaigns. In this role, you will research, verify, and compile church contact information using online directories and organize it into highly accurate, structured spreadsheets. This independent, remote position is perfect for someone with strong organizational skills who thrives on meticulous information gathering and cross-referencing.
Schedule
- 20 hours per week - Monday to Friday | Flexible working hours during Oregon business hours
Responsibilities
- Research and compile physical addresses and email contacts for megachurches using online directories, databases, and other reliable sources.
- Organize and maintain accurate contact information in structured spreadsheets.
- Cross-reference multiple online sources to verify the completeness and accuracy of collected data.
- Deliver completed contact lists to the client's webmaster for postcard campaign preparation.
- Provide weekly progress reports, including records completed and any research challenges encountered.
- Begin with the 100 largest megachurches in the United States before expanding to a database of approximately 5,000 churches.
- Source information primarily from the Hartford Institute website and supplementary online research.
- Compile records alphabetically while ensuring consistency and accuracy across all entries.
Requirements
- Previous experience in data entry, internet research, or a similar administrative support role.
- Strong internet research and information-gathering skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar spreadsheet applications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good written communication skills for providing regular progress updates.
- Reliable internet connection and suitable remote work setup.
