Senior Accountant | Spanish Bilingual

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and proactive Senior Bilingual Bookkeeper to join our team. In this senior role, you will serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on day-to-day accounting matters, reviewing team work for accuracy, and maintaining efficient accounting processes.

The ideal candidate is fully fluent in both English and Spanish, possesses strong technical bookkeeping knowledge, and enjoys mentoring junior team members while ensuring top-tier client service.

Schedule:

  • 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM  (US Central Time), with 1-hour unpaid break (40 hours per week, 8 hours per day).

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary resource for the bookkeeping team by answering daily accounting and bookkeeping questions.
  • Provide guidance and support on complex bookkeeping transactions and account reconciliations.
  • Review completed bookkeeping work to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards.
  • Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and recommend appropriate corrective actions
  • Assist in maintaining and improving bookkeeping procedures and internal processes.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new bookkeeping team members.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain accurate financial records while ensuring confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
  • Communicate professionally with clients and internal stakeholders in both English and Spanish.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and recommend process enhancements.

     

Requisites:

  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
  • 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, with senior-level or mentorship responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, analytical problem-solving, and high attention to detail
  • Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero) and advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Dependable, trustworthy, and able to manage multiple client priorities while handling confidential information.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with U.S. bookkeeping practices, payroll, sales tax, and multi-client environments is preferred.
