Job Description

We're looking for a full-time Dispatcher to support our day-to-day freight operations by serving as the communication hub between our third-party dispatch team, truck drivers, and internal management. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, follows established procedures, makes sound decisions under pressure, and communicates confidently with multiple stakeholders. Beyond dispatch coordination, you'll play a key role in bridging communication gaps—ensuring drivers have the information they need, addressing additional questions, and escalating concerns when necessary. You'll monitor active loads, help resolve operational issues, and contribute to the smooth execution of our transportation operations. This is a fast-paced position where attention to detail, strong judgment, and excellent communication are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily freight operations with a third-party dispatch company, truck drivers, and internal management.

  • Serve as the primary point of communication to ensure information flows clearly between all parties.

  • Dispatch and monitor loads to ensure timely pickups and on-time deliveries.

  • Bridge communication gaps by addressing driver questions, clarifying instructions, and escalating concerns when appropriate.

  • Monitor delivery progress and proactively respond to delays, route changes, equipment issues, or other operational challenges.

  • Follow established dispatch procedures and company processes with consistency and accuracy.

  • Make timely, well-informed decisions to keep operations running efficiently while prioritizing safety and service.

  • Maintain accurate dispatch records, communication logs, and operational updates.

  • Collaborate with management to identify and resolve issues that may impact service or driver performance.

  • Support continuous improvements in dispatch efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in dispatch, transportation, logistics, or fleet coordination is preferred.

  • Experience working with trucking operations or freight transportation is highly desirable.

  • Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills. A neutral accent is not required, provided communication is clear and easily understood.

  • Excellent at following established procedures while remaining adaptable when unexpected situations arise.

  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

  • Comfortable interacting professionally with third-party dispatchers, truck drivers, and management throughout the day.

  • Proficient with computers and comfortable learning transportation management or dispatch software.

  • Customer service-oriented with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.

  • Willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and non-traditional workdays as needed. Most shifts will align with Pacific Time (PST) business hours.

     

    Training & Onboarding

     

  • Comprehensive one-week training program covering company procedures, dispatch workflows, communication protocols, and operational systems.

  • Continued coaching and follow-through support after initial training to ensure a successful transition into the role.

    Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting Amazon Freight or an Amazon Freight Partner.

  • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs), GPS tracking platforms, or fleet management software.

  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service (HOS).

  • Experience coordinating Class A CDL drivers.
