Mobile App UX & QA Tester

Job Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and user-focused Mobile App UX & QA Tester to support the continuous improvement of a mobile-first event and community application. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in mobile usability testing, UX evaluation, and quality assurance who enjoys identifying opportunities to enhance user experience across iOS and Android platforms. You will work closely with the development team to evaluate user journeys, uncover usability issues, validate new features, and recommend improvements that create a polished, intuitive experience for users.

Schedule

  • Flexible Hours, Hong Kong Time (20 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive UX and functional testing across iOS and Android applications, ensuring consistency in design, layout, functionality, navigation, accessibility, responsiveness, and overall user experience.
  • Test critical user journeys, including user registration and authentication, event creation, RSVP and guest management, community interactions, direct messaging, push notifications, payment workflows, and shared expense tracking.
  • Use multiple test accounts to simulate real-world user interactions, edge cases, and unexpected application behavior.
  • Identify, document, and prioritize bugs, interface inconsistencies, and usability issues with clear reproduction steps, screenshots, videos, and severity levels.
  • Collaborate closely with the developer to discuss findings, recommend practical UX improvements, and support continuous product enhancement.
  • Review implemented fixes and perform regression testing to ensure issues are fully resolved without affecting existing functionality.
  • Provide ongoing QA and UX feedback to help improve application quality, performance, and user satisfaction after launch.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in UX/UI testing for iOS and Android mobile applications, with a strong understanding of mobile usability principles and user-centered design.
  • Experience identifying usability issues, translating findings into actionable recommendations, and creating clear QA documentation.
  • Proficiency with Firebase, Figma, and mobile testing tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently while collaborating remotely with developers.
  • Preferred: Experience testing applications built with Flutter/Dart and an understanding of cross-platform mobile development.
  • Preferred: Experience with payment workflows, transaction testing, regression testing, release validation, and mobile accessibility best practices.
  • Preferred: Experience testing community, messaging, or social applications, with the ability to recommend UX improvements that enhance application performance and usability.
  • Technical Environment: Experience with Flutter, Dart, Firebase (Firestore, Cloud Functions, Authentication, Cloud Storage), Figma, mobile testing tools, and iOS/Android platforms is beneficial.
  • Core Competencies: UX evaluation, mobile application testing, quality assurance, user journey analysis, bug identification, regression testing, documentation, problem-solving, communication, critical thinking, attention to detail, time management, and collaboration.
