Job title: Insurance Claims Specialist
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Claims Specialist to support our team with insurance claims administration, documentation, and case management. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in an insurance company, insurance claims department, or law firm handling insurance-related matters. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in Excel, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with a high degree of professionalism.
Schedule: M- F (flexible hours between the hours of 9-5Pm EST) | 20 hrs per week
Key Responsibilities
- Review, process, and manage insurance claims documentation.
- Track claim status, deadlines, and required follow-ups.
- Communicate with insurance carriers, adjusters, attorneys, clients, and other stakeholders as needed.
- Gather, organize, and maintain claim-related records and supporting documentation.
- Update and maintain accurate records in internal systems and spreadsheets.
- Prepare reports, summaries, and claim-related data using Excel.
- Assist with claim investigations, information requests, and documentation collection.
- Monitor outstanding claims and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
- Ensure all information is handled in compliance with confidentiality and data privacy requirements.
- Support administrative and operational tasks related to claims management.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in insurance claims, insurance administration, personal injury, workers' compensation, property and casualty claims, or a related field.
- Experience working in an insurance company, claims department, legal office, or law firm handling insurance claims.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data organization, filtering, reporting, and spreadsheet management.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple claims and priorities simultaneously.
- Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Experience with claims management software, CRM systems, or case management platforms is highly preferred.
