HR & Payroll Coordinator (Assisted Living | Healthcare)

Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and structured HR & Payroll Coordinator (Assisted Living | Healthcare) to manage human resources and payroll operations across two assisted living facilities in Maryland. In this part-time remote role, you will support a small team of approximately five staff members by establishing standardized onboarding processes, coordinating staff performance evaluations, and ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing. You will serve as the primary point of contact for employee policy inquiries while maintaining strict HIPAA compliance regarding sensitive employee and resident records. The ideal candidate has a strong background in small-team HR administration and enjoys building efficient operational workflows from the ground up.

Schedule: Mon - Fri, flexible during client’s business hours | EST (20 hours per week)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing to ensure staff are paid accurately and on time
  • Oversee the employee onboarding process, including documentation and orientation for new hires
  • Conduct staff performance evaluations and maintain organized employee records
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding pay, policies, and procedures
  • Coordinate scheduling and support remote administrative tasks related to admissions and discharges
  • Streamline and maintain efficient HR workflows across two assisted living facilities

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in payroll administration and HR operations for small teams
  • Strong understanding of onboarding processes and employee lifecycle management
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards and handling sensitive employee and resident information
  • Excellent organizational skills and high level of attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
