Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper & Accounts Receivable Specialist (Xero) to support a growing international business. This role is ideal for a finance professional with strong bookkeeping and accounting experience who is looking to take ownership of core finance functions while contributing to financial reporting, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration.
Reporting to the Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts receivable, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, preparing financial reports, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting across multiple international entities.
This is a full-time remote opportunity offering exposure to a dynamic global finance environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable & Credit Control
- Manage the end-to-end Accounts Receivable function across an international customer base.
- Monitor outstanding debtor balances and proactively manage collections to improve cash flow.
- Resolve customer account queries while maintaining positive client relationships.
- Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate invoicing and billing.
- Monitor payment trends and recommend improvements to collection processes.
Bookkeeping & Financial Accounting
- Maintain accurate financial records through Trial Balance.
- Process and review General Ledger transactions.
- Prepare and post journals including:
- Accruals
- Prepayments
- Deferred income
- Adjustments
- Maintain fixed asset registers and supporting schedules.
- Ensure accounting records comply with company policies and accounting standards.
Reconciliations
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations across multiple currencies and international bank accounts.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items promptly.
- Maintain supporting documentation for all reconciliations.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare draft monthly Profit & Loss statements.
- Assist in preparing monthly management reports.
- Perform financial analysis and variance reporting.
- Deliver accurate financial reports within required deadlines.
- Support decision-making by providing meaningful financial insights.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in preparing annual budgets.
- Support periodic financial forecasts.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets.
- Prepare variance analysis and financial commentary.
Month-End & Year-End Close
- Support month-end and year-end close activities.
- Prepare journals and reconciliation schedules.
- Assist with external audit requirements.
- Prepare supporting documentation for auditors.
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting efficiency.
Business Partnering
- Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Customer Support, and Operations teams.
- Support accurate billing and customer account management.
- Assist non-finance stakeholders with financial information and reporting.
- Recommend process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Build strong working relationships across international teams.
Required Skills & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Bookkeeper, Assistant Accountant, or similar finance role.
- Strong Accounts Receivable and Credit Control experience.
- Experience preparing accounts through to Trial Balance.
- Strong understanding of:
- General Ledger maintenance
- Journal entries
- Bank reconciliations
- Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Profit & Loss reporting
- Experience supporting month-end accounting processes.
- Experience assisting with:
- Budgeting
- Forecasting
- Financial analysis
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
- Experience working within SaaS, technology, or high-growth businesses.
- Experience using Xero or other cloud-based accounting systems.
- Multi-currency accounting experience.
- Multi-entity accounting experience.
- Bookkeeping or accounting qualifications (AAT, ICB, or equivalent).
- Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent.
