Finance Manager

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized, numbers-confident Finance & Operations Administrator to serve as the engine room for our growing group of businesses. Acting as the critical bridge between our internal Directors and our external CFO/finance partner, you will fully own our in-house finance administrative workflows—including end-to-end credit control, invoicing, and weekly management reporting. Alongside the existing business, we are opening two new companies, one of which this role will directly support. It’s a genuine opportunity to build the systems and rhythm of a finance and operations function from the ground up.

Schedule: Full time - UK Business Hours | Remote.

Responsibilities:

Finance Operations

  • Lead end-to-end credit control, issuing accurate invoices, and chasing aged debt across the group.
  • Manage allocations to keep books reconcilable and own the finance inbox to resolve queries promptly.
  • Act as the primary day-to-day contact for the external CFO and finance partner.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Produce clear weekly/monthly financial reports that turn data into actionable insights for Directors.
  • Monitor key metrics to flag potential issues before they impact the business

Administration & Business Operations

  • Execute weekly action items from Directors with precision and to a high standard..
  • Handle daily administration for the group, including the two new startup companies.
  • Design and maintain simple, effective workflows to keep finance and operations organized.
  • Coordinate regular check-ins, compiling the data needed for strategic decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional, proactive communication skills with the ability to clearly explain numbers and keep stakeholders informed (non-negotiable).
  • Highly organized with sharp attention to detail while managing multiple moving parts across finance and administration.
  • Strong numerical confidence, accuracy, and a solid understanding of how business finance works.
  • A proactive "doer" who takes ownership of a brief and executes with minimal oversight.
  • Absolute trustworthiness and discretion when handling sensitive financial data.
  • Proven experience in finance administration, bookkeeping, or credit control, preferably within a small or fast-moving business.
  • Proficiency with cloud accounting software (e.g., Xero) and strong spreadsheet skills.
  • Experience supporting multiple entities or working within a startup/founder-led environment is a plus.
