Revenue Cycle & Operations Specialist

Overview

Help us build one of the best-run outpatient physical therapy practices in Maryland. Our company is seeking a detail-oriented professional to help oversee the quality and efficiency of our revenue cycle and business operations. Instead of simply processing claims, you'll review, audit, and improve the work being done to ensure our systems run accurately and efficiently.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday (9am–1pm EST) | 20 hrs per week

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular quality audits of medical billing activities
  • Review ERAs, denials, payment postings, write-offs, and patient balances
  • Identify billing errors, missed revenue opportunities, and process improvement opportunities
  • Review Accounts Receivable and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding claims
  • Verify patient statements before they are sent
  • Assist with billing cleanup and aging account resolution
  • Create, assign, and track operational tasks in Tebra
  • Reconcile information between WebPT, Tebra, and QuickBooks
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as collections, denials, payment turnaround time, and A/R aging
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Identify opportunities to automate workflows and improve efficiency
  • Prepare a weekly operations report highlighting findings, trends, and recommended actions
  • Perform occasional audits of scheduling, documentation, and front-office workflows to help improve overall operations

Requirements

  • 3+ years of medical billing or revenue cycle experience
  • Strong understanding of insurance claims, ERAs, denials, payment posting, and collections
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Experience with Tebra/Kareo, WebPT, or similar EMR systems preferred
  • QuickBooks experience is a plus
