About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join an innovative engineering team focused on designing and improving advanced electronic products for commercial applications. This role combines product development, embedded electronics, manufacturing support, and continuous improvement, offering the opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle from concept and design through production and validation.

Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm Australian Central Standard Time (ACST), 40 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Design analog and digital electronic circuits for embedded applications.
- Develop control and driver electronics for specialized electronic systems.
- Design, review, and maintain schematics and PCB layouts.
- Program and integrate embedded microcontrollers.
- Develop new product features and improve existing electronic designs.
Electronics Design & Development
Product Development
- Participate throughout the complete product development lifecycle.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies for future product enhancements.
- Support the identification and assessment of new product opportunities.
- Conduct product testing, validation, and performance qualification activities.
Manufacturing & Production Support
- Support manufacturing partners by providing accurate engineering documentation.
- Maintain PCB documentation, engineering drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Coordinate PCB fabrication and production requirements.
- Develop testing procedures and validation methods.
- Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing and production issues.
Quality & Compliance
- Investigate design and manufacturing non-conformances and recommend corrective actions.
- Support product compliance and certification requirements.
- Maintain engineering change control and version management processes.
- Collaborate with quality and production teams to drive continuous improvement.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
- Manage engineering records, documentation, and revision control.
- Support R&D documentation and project tracking.
- Provide regular technical updates and progress reports.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in electronics design and product development.
- Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design.
- Hands-on experience with PCB schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Experience programming embedded microcontrollers.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
- Experience managing engineering documentation and version control.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred
Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable:
- Medical device or regulated product development.
- Product compliance and certification standards.
- Industrial electronics.
- Mechanical CAD or drafting software.
- Failure Mode Analysis (FMEA/FMA).
- Manufacturing validation and process improvement.
- Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
- Research & Development (R&D) project support.
