Senior Microsoft Power Platform Developer

Job Overview

Our client is looking for a highly capable Microsoft Power Platform Developer to design, develop, and support modern Microsoft-based business solutions across data, reporting, integrations, automation, and AI. In this role, you will build enterprise-grade reporting solutions, develop scalable Power Platform applications, integrate business systems, automate business processes, and create AI-powered assistants using Microsoft's latest technologies. Working closely with business leaders, project managers, and technical stakeholders, you will solve complex business problems and deliver scalable digital solutions that drive measurable business outcomes. 

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Brisbane time, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, reusable datasets, KPI frameworks, and reporting standards while improving performance, user experience, and data quality.
  • Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, scalable data models, reporting databases, ETL processes, and support SQL Server optimization, data integrity, and data warehousing initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain REST API, Microsoft Graph API, Dataverse, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and webhook integrations while troubleshooting failures and optimizing system performance.
  • Develop Model-Driven and Canvas Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, Dataverse solutions, custom connectors, and business process automation while maintaining Power Platform best practices.
  • Build AI Agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio, integrate Azure OpenAI services, implement AI-powered document processing, design intelligent workflow automation, evaluate Generative AI opportunities, and ensure Responsible AI governance.
  • Develop solutions across Microsoft 365, including SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Forms, Planner, and Dynamics 365 (where applicable).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, provide recommendations, document solution architecture, and support testing, deployment, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements 

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience developing solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate, Dataverse, and Power BI (DAX, Power Query, semantic models, and performance optimization).
  • Strong SQL Server development experience, including complex queries, stored procedures, indexing, database design, ETL pipelines, data transformation, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience developing and integrating REST APIs, Microsoft Graph API, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and Azure integration services, with knowledge of JSON, OAuth, authentication, and API security.
  • Experience developing AI solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio and Azure OpenAI, with knowledge of Generative AI, prompt engineering, Responsible AI, and AI workflow automation.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, star schema design, data governance, data quality management, and KPI framework development.
  • Experience working with the Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Teams, Excel Online, Azure Active Directory/Microsoft Entra ID, and PowerShell (preferred).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment and a passion for Microsoft technologies and AI innovation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate, Power BI Data Analyst Associate, Azure AI Engineer Associate, or Azure Developer Associate.
  • Experience in Education, Childcare, or Multi-site Operations.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Success Measures

  • Within the first 12 months, successfully deliver scalable Power Platform solutions, enterprise Power BI reporting, AI-driven automation, and system integrations that improve operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, and data-driven decision-making.
