Lead UI/UX Designer

Job Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Lead UI/UX Designer to oversee daily design execution and deliver exceptional, user-centered digital products, websites, and email campaigns. Reporting to the Digital Manager, you will translate research and business requirements into intuitive user flows, high-fidelity interfaces, and scalable Figma design systems. This full-time remote role (40 hours/week, EST) blends strategic leadership with active creation, making it ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys mentoring contributors while driving continuous UX optimization.

Schedule

Mon-Fri,9 am - 5 pm EST time with 30 minutes paid break (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities

UI/UX Design

  • Convert business requirements into user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs.
  • Design intuitive information architecture and seamless user journeys.
  • Produce responsive, production-ready interfaces using Figma.
  • Lead UX research, journey mapping, and human-centered design initiatives.

Design Systems

  • Build, maintain, and evolve a scalable design system.
  • Create reusable components, typography standards, spacing guidelines, and UI patterns.
  • Ensure visual consistency across websites, email templates, and digital products.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Marketing, Operations, Customer Experience, and Engineering teams.
  • Manage design requests from intake through design review, QA, and final delivery.
  • Communicate design rationale clearly and gather stakeholder feedback effectively.

User Research & Optimization

  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and analyze customer feedback.
  • Identify friction points throughout the customer journey.
  • Recommend and implement design improvements that increase engagement, activation, and conversion.

Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Coordinate with designers, contractors, and external partners.
  • Maintain high design quality while ensuring projects remain on schedule.
  • Create and maintain documentation, SOPs, and design handoff processes.
  • Mentor team members and promote design best practices.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Reduce design cycle time from project intake to engineering handoff.
  • Increase adoption and consistency of the design system across digital properties.
  • Improve website and landing page conversion rates through iterative design improvements.
  • Enhance user onboarding and engagement by identifying and removing UX friction.
  • Deliver high-quality design work that supports business growth while maintaining design consistency.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in UI/UX Design, Product Design, or Digital Design.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating successful digital products and measurable business outcomes. (APPLICATIONS WITH PORTFOLIOS WILL BE PRIORITIZED)
  • Extensive experience with end-to-end design processes from discovery through engineering handoff.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, auto layout, and responsive design.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and conversion-focused design.
  • Experience facilitating design thinking workshops or collaborative design sessions.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building and maintaining enterprise-level design systems.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms and customer journey automation tools.
  • Experience using customer support insights to improve UX.
  • Advanced knowledge of Notion for documentation and workflow management.
  • Experience working in fast-growing startups or high-performance organizations.
