Job Overview
Our client is seeking a dynamic, passionate, and deeply analytical General Manager – Strategy & Operations (Social Impact) to oversee operations and drive growth for their purpose-led organisation. Reporting directly to the Founder, you will serve as the driving force connecting long-term strategic vision with daily operational execution. This role requires a rare balance: you must be fiercely numbers-oriented, structured, and metric-driven, yet fundamentally people-focused and aligned with a mission to make a tangible difference in the community. You will lead a diverse global footprint, managing a remote operational team, local staff, and an enthusiastic network of volunteers.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8 hours per day / 40 hours per week
Our client is open to two scheduling options to accommodate global talent:
- Option A (Standard AEST): 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM AEST
- Option B (Late AEST / South African Friendly): 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM AEST (5:00 AM – 2:00 PM SAST for South Africa-based applicants)
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the Founder to co-author, refine, and execute the organisation’s long-term strategic plan.
- Ensure full operational and regulatory compliance across all programs and initiatives in line with the strategic roadmap.
- Design, implement, and track clear operational metrics, OKRs, and KPIs across all organizational teams.
- Actively monitor, support, and hold staff accountable to ensure organizational milestones are consistently met.
- Work collaboratively with Sales and Client Success teams to build relationships and liaise with new and recurring corporate clients.
- Act as a key touchpoint for premium clients, showcasing the direct social ROI of their investment and how it funds the feeding mission.
- Compile clear, numbers-driven progress reports for stakeholders regarding organizational health, impact metrics, and financial sustainability.
Requirements
- Proven track record in a leadership or general management role, with specific experience leading cross-cultural or remote teams.
- Experience directly managing cross-border workforces, ideally involving staff in Australia, the Philippines, or local community volunteers.
- Exceptional analytical and numbers-oriented skills with deep experience mapping out KPIs, spreadsheets, and data tracking.
- Genuine passion and heart for charity, social impact, and community wellbeing.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently present to corporate executives and stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with a strong ability to manage tasks across multiple time zones.
- Ability to work independently under remote direction while maintaining structural operational accountability.
