Finance Business Partner (CPA)
As a Finance Business Partner, you will act as a strategic finance partner, working closely with Australian clients to improve financial visibility, drive performance, and support better decision- making. The role combines financial planning and analysis, performance reporting, and hands-on business partnering to deliver commercial insight to senior stakeholders and operational teams.
Key responsibilities
Strategic & financial planning
• Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) engagements.
• Develop and maintain financial models for scenario analysis, including budgets and forecasts.
• Present and influence operational, financing, investment and strategic decision-making.
Performance management & reporting
• Deliver cash flow forecasting and treasury insights.
• Deliver monthly performance reviews with detailed variance analysis and commercial insights.
• Design reporting dashboards and KPIs.
Business partnering & stakeholder engagement
• Act as the primary financial liaison for assigned businesses by building strong relationships with senior leaders and operational teams.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Identify cost optimisation opportunities.
• Support scalable finance processes.
• Collaborate with tax and bookkeeping teams.
Other
• Other ad hoc tasks and projects as directed by the Divisional Manager.
Key selection criteria
Qualifications
• CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent), or working towards.
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
Experience
• 3 years’ experience in a finance business partnering, FP&A or commercial finance role.
• Demonstrated experience building budgets, forecasts and financial models for scenario analysis.
• Experience delivering monthly performance reporting, variance analysis and cash flow forecasting.
• Experience partnering with senior, non-finance stakeholders to influence decisions.
Skills & attributes
• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
• Confident communicator able to present and influence at a senior level.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insight.
• Proficiency with reporting / dashboarding tools and advanced Excel.
• Collaborative, with the ability to work across tax, bookkeeping and operational teams.
