Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to take ownership of end-of-month reporting, account reconciliations, and financial record management across multiple client accounts. This role requires a highly organized professional with strong expertise in Xero and MYOB, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Schedule: Part-Time, 20 hours per week
Hours: Monday to Friday during Australian Eastern business hours (flexible scheduling)
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver accurate end-of-month financial reports for multiple client accounts
- Reconcile balance sheets and ensure all accounts are balanced on a monthly basis
- Complete bank reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Manage and monitor employee entitlements across client accounts
- Perform bookkeeping data entry and maintain accurate financial records
- Process and maintain financial information within Xero and MYOB
- Take ownership of recurring reporting workflows and financial administration tasks
- Maintain organized financial documentation and supporting records
- Collaborate with the business owner to improve reporting processes and operational efficiency
- Handle sensitive financial information with professionalism and confidentiality
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role
- Has an understanding of Australian GST
- Strong proficiency in both Xero and MYOB is a mandatory
- Solid understanding of end-of-month reporting processes
- Experience performing balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines simultaneously
