Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Shopify Website Developer to build, launch, and manage a Shopify eCommerce store for a growing business. This role is ideal for a Shopify specialist who can independently create a professional online store, upload and organize products, optimize the customer experience, and provide ongoing maintenance and support after launch.

The initial focus will be on building the website from the ground up, followed by several months of website management, updates, and support as the business establishes its online presence.

Schedule

Project-based, flexible (Full-Time Preferred During Build Phase)

Contract Type

Project-Based Contract (Estimated 3–6 Months), With a possibility of extending limited hours for support, after project concludes.

Contract Duration

This is a project-based engagement expected to run approximately 3 to 6 months, depending on project progress and ongoing website support requirements. Hours may be reduced after the initial build phase as the focus shifts to maintenance and support.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and launch a Shopify eCommerce website
• Configure Shopify settings, navigation, collections, and product categories
• Upload and manage a large catalog of products
• Customize Shopify themes and templates as needed
• Ensure the website is responsive and optimized for desktop and mobile users
• Implement best practices for user experience and conversion optimization
• Manage website content updates and product changes
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide ongoing website maintenance
• Monitor website performance and recommend improvements
• Support the business during the post-launch period

Requirements

• Proven experience building Shopify websites from start to finish
• Strong understanding of Shopify themes, templates, and store configuration
• Experience with product uploads, collections, and inventory management
• Knowledge of basic HTML, CSS, and Shopify customization
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Professional communication skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Shopify apps and integrations
• Understanding of eCommerce best practices
• Experience optimizing online stores for conversions and customer experience
• Portfolio showcasing previous Shopify projects
