Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance & Accounting Specialist with strong experience in QuickBooks, trial balances, and financial statement reconciliation. In this role, you will analyze, correct, and maintain accurate Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and supporting financial records. If you have a deep understanding of accounting principles and a passion for identifying discrepancies and ensuring financial accuracy, we want you on our team.

Schedule

• Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
• Days: Monday – Friday

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and reconcile QuickBooks trial balances to ensure accuracy
• Prepare, correct, and finalize Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and Balance Sheets
• Identify and resolve discrepancies related to:
  • Misclassified transactions
  • Journal entry errors
  • Reconciliation variances
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end account reconciliations
• Ensure consistency between general ledger, trial balance, and financial statements
• Assist with clean-up and catch-up bookkeeping projects
• Collaborate with management to explain financial results and variances
• Support tax preparation by providing accurate financial reports to CPAs or tax professionals
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Document accounting processes and improvements for efficiency and accuracy

Requirements

• Proven experience working with QuickBooks Online and/or Desktop
• Strong background in:
  • Trial balance analysis
  • Financial statement preparation
  • P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliation
• Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve accounting discrepancies
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas preferred)
• Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Preferred: 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Preferred: Experience supporting small-to-mid-sized businesses
• Preferred: Prior experience with multi-entity or program-based accounting (a plus)
