Job Overview

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Nonprofit Accountant to manage financial postings, reconciliations, and reporting. In this role, you will ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards while tracking financial data for key work programs and thrift store operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage general ledger postings for various cost centers.
  • Complete bank and credit card account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements.
  • Assist in month-end close procedures for the nonprofit.
  • Identify and resolve any financial data discrepancies.
  • Ensure all postings follow nonprofit accounting standards.
  • Track financial data for the thrift store and work programs.
  • Maintain clear documentation of financial adjustments and postings.

Requirements

  • Background in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • Experience with nonprofit or IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities)-specific accounting platforms.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on reconciliations.
  • Ability to meet strict monthly and weekly deadlines.
  • Fluency in financial terminology and standards.
  • Proven track record of remote finance management.
  • Reliable and consistent communication for team syncs.
  • Adherence to existing organizational security protocols.
