Xero Data Entry Clerk

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly meticulous and efficient Offshore Bookkeeper/Accounting Assistant to join our team.

This role is critical for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting our accounting functions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail and be proficient in handling repetitive data entry tasks within our financial systems.

This position offers the opportunity to be an integral part of a dynamic yacht management business.

Schedule:

  • Mondays to Fridays, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (Australian Eastern Time, 35 hours per week)
  • The client offers flexibility for earlier or later starts/finishes, provided the minimum daily availability within the 9:00 am to 5:00 pm AEST/AEDT window is consistently met. This flexibility also extends to tasks that can be completed outside of core hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Manage and process a high volume of data entry across multiple platforms.
  • Reconcile accounts and transactions regularly.
  • Assist with financial reporting and preparation of financial statements as required.
  • Collaborate with the internal team to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Maintain organized and accessible financial documentation.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records promptly.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Software Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency and experience with Xero and Dext are essential requirements.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail is paramount, given the repetitive data entry nature of the role.
  • Data Entry Skills: Proven ability to perform accurate and efficient data entry. A typing test for accuracy and speed may be part of the final assessment.
  • Bookkeeping Experience: Relevant experience in bookkeeping or an accounting assistant role. While years of experience are not the sole focus, a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles is required.
  • Work Ethic: A strong work ethic and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management abilities.
