US Accountant (QuickBooks Online)

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support a growing accounting practice serving clients in the sports, entertainment, and media industries. This role has evolved from bookkeeping into a more accounting-focused position, with emphasis on tax preparation support, financial reporting, and budget preparation. You will work closely with the lead accountant to ensure accurate financial records, tax-ready documentation, and reliable financial insights across multiple client accounts. This is ideal for someone highly organized, analytical, and experienced in U.S. accounting processes.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM EST (20 hours/week)

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records across multiple client accounts
  • Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions
  • Perform regular bank and account reconciliations
  • Prepare and organize financial data for tax filing and tax preparation support
  • Assist in tax documentation preparation and coordination with the lead accountant
  • Support budget preparation and financial tracking for client accounts
  • Maintain accurate and structured bookkeeping entries using QuickBooks Online
  • Prepare and issue client invoices and track outstanding receivables
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. accounting standards and internal reporting requirements
  • Support payroll-related data entry and reconciliation as needed

Requirements

  • Proven experience in accounting or advanced bookkeeping roles
  • Strong experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO preferred)
  • Knowledge of U.S. accounting standards and tax preparation processes
  • Experience supporting or preparing tax documentation (individual or business)
  • Experience in budget preparation and financial reporting
  • Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Experience

  • Background working with U.S.-based clients or accounting firms
  • Experience in small-to-mid sized accounting practice environments
  • Exposure to payroll processing and financial reporting cycles
