Overview

We are looking for a creative and trend-aware Podcast Video Editor who can transform long-form podcast and interview content into engaging, high-performing videos for both YouTube and short-form platforms. This role goes beyond technical editing — we’re looking for someone with strong editorial instinct and a deep understanding of U.S. content trends, particularly in the education and career space.

Schedule

• 20 hours per week, Monday - Friday (flexible time following Pacific time zone)

Responsibilities

• Edit full-length podcast and interview recordings into polished YouTube uploads (intro/outro, captions, and b-roll if supplied)
• Cut long-form content into engaging short-form videos optimized for social media platforms
• Add captions, sound design, transitions, and hooks that align with current content trends
• Suggest clip moments worth cutting — must have editorial instinct, not just technical skill

US trend literacy expected:

• Follow US creators in the education and career space on TikTok / Reels
• Understands hook formats, pacing expectations, and caption styles popular in the US market
• Knows how to structure a short-form clip that retains US viewers past the 3-second mark

Requirements

• Experience editing content is required
• Comfortable understanding spoken Mandarin well enough to identify engaging content moments and edit accurately (Understanding in Chinese Mandarin language is not required)
• Understanding of audience preferences, pacing, caption styles, and storytelling techniques commonly used in Chinese-language content (Understanding in Chinese Mandarin language is not required)

Tools Expected:

• Premiere Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, Descript, After Effects (basic), Frame.io

Ideal Background:

• Portfolio with both long-form edits AND short clips — both are required
• Has edited for a US-based creator, media brand, or educational channel before
• Understands that podcast edits and Reels require totally different pacing and energy
