Job Overview:

This is a part-time contract position requiring approximately 20 hours per week for an estimated three-month duration. The role involves converting engineering sketches into functional 3D AutoCAD drawings for battery energy storage projects. Work will be project-based with staged deliverables, requiring review cycles between drafting phases.

Client Overview:

Our client is a small engineering consultancy specializing in battery energy storage systems. The business focuses on civil, mechanical, and electrical design within the renewable energy sector.

Schedule:

• Mondays to Fridays, 6:00 to 9:00 pm (3-hour availability window), then flexible working hours outside this period (Australian Eastern Time, 20 hours per week)

Responsibilities:

• Interpret engineering sketches and convert them into accurate 3D AutoCAD drawings.
• Produce functional technical drawings based on provided specifications and design intent.
• Complete drafting tasks within agreed timeframes and productivity expectations.
• Participate in review cycles and incorporate feedback into revised drawings.
• Maintain availability during designated communication windows for project check-ins and coordination.

Must-Have Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a CAD operator.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, specifically 3D drafting capabilities.
• Own an AutoCAD license for use during the assignment.
• Ability to interpret technical sketches and translate them into detailed drawings without requiring engineering calculations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical documentation.

Nice-to-Have Requirements:

• Experience working with engineering consultants or in a collaborative design environment.
• Familiarity with battery energy storage systems or renewable energy projects.
