Client Overview
The client operates multiple e-commerce businesses in the beekeeping supplies and solar energy sectors, with platforms running for 8-12 years. They are seeking to consolidate their web presence across three websites and improve online sales conversion through better UX/UI and technical implementation.

Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM AEST (20 work hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Implement and customize ThemeForest templates for WooCommerce online stores to improve functionality and user experience
- Redesign and optimize the complete user journey from browsing to purchase completion with focus on conversion optimization
- Develop and maintain WordPress/WooCommerce sites across three different business properties with consolidated backend management
- Implement existing APIs into website infrastructure to extend functionality and integrate third-party services
- Collaborate with the business owner to understand technical requirements and translate business needs into functional web solutions
- Manage social media presence and content across eBay, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram platforms
- Create engaging social media content that drives traffic and sales, moving beyond static PowerPoint-style advertisements
- Provide ongoing website maintenance, updates, and technical support for all three web properties
Requirements
- Minimum 2-5 years of proven experience in web development with WordPress and WooCommerce platforms
- Strong technical background in open-source e-commerce development and customization beyond template installation
- Demonstrated UX/UI expertise with ability to design complete user journeys and optimize conversion funnels, not just visual mockups
- Experience with API implementation and integration into existing website infrastructure
- Professional communication skills and ability to work independently while collaborating remotely with business leadership
- Portfolio demonstrating successful e-commerce website projects with measurable improvements in user experience
Nice-to-have
- Experience with social media content creation and management for e-commerce businesses
- Familiarity with other e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, OpenCart, or BigCommerce
- Background in design tools including Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Illustrator
- Experience managing marketplace sales channels like eBay alongside owned e-commerce properties
- Ability to outsource specialized design work through freelance platforms when needed
- Understanding of the beekeeping or solar energy industries
