Job Overview

As a Social Media Manager, you will take full ownership of content distribution and community growth by repurposing long-form podcast episodes into high-impact short-form clips. You will manage daily posting schedules across platforms like Meta, YouTube, and TikTok while auditing existing content to maximize discoverability and engagement. This role requires a proactive creator who can balance technical video editing with data-driven performance tracking to refine our overall content strategy. By maintaining our digital presence and fostering niche community interactions, you will be a key driver of our brand’s online evolution.

 

Job Highlights

Schedule: Mon - Fri 9am-1pm MST (20-34 hrs per week)

Work Arrangement: Work from home

Contract: Independent Contractor

 

Responsibilities

  • Repurpose long-form podcast episodes into engaging short-form video clips optimized for each platform (Meta, YouTube, TikTok, Spotify, etc.)
  • Plan, schedule, and publish daily content across all social media channels using existing scheduling tools
  • Manage community engagement by responding to comments, direct messages, and audience inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Conduct content performance audits, including review of captions, meta tags, descriptions, and analytics to identify optimization opportunities
  • Provide daily end-of-shift updates via Loom summarizing completed tasks, key insights, and issues encountered
  • Track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics such as engagement rate, reach, demographics, CTR, and content trends

 

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing social media accounts and repurposing long-form content into short-form video formats (APPLICATIONS WITH PORTFOLIOS WILL BE PRIORITIZED)
  • Portfolio must include examples of:
    • Short-form video content (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts)
    • Content repurposed from long-form videos or podcasts
    • Social media pages/accounts managed (if applicable)
    • Performance results or analytics (if available)
  • Candidates without a portfolio or sample work will not be considered
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, trends, and growth strategies
  • Basic video editing and graphic design skills (captions, thumbnails, reels, and visual content)
  • Self-starter with strong ownership mentality and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Proactive mindset with ability to suggest content improvements and growth strategies
  • Experience with Meta Business Suite, YouTube Studio, scheduling tools, and analytics platforms
