U.S. Tax Preparer (Partnerships & S-Corps)

Job Overview

This is a full-time remote role focused on preparing and reviewing U.S. tax returns for partnerships, S-corps, and individual clients. The successful candidate will work closely with bookkeeping teams to ensure financial records are tax-ready and compliant before filing deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of U.S. tax laws, experience working with entity taxation, and the ability to analyze financial statements with accuracy and attention to detail.

Client Overview

Our client is a growing US-based accounting and tax services firm supporting partnerships, S-corporations, and individual clients across multiple industries. They are focused on delivering accurate financial reporting and tax preparation services while maintaining high standards of client support and compliance. As the business continues to expand, our client is looking for an experienced U.S. Tax Preparer to join their remote team.

Schedule

  • Monday - Thursday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST, with 1 hour unpaid break & Friday, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM EST (36 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare U.S. federal and state tax returns for partnerships, S-corps, and individual clients
  • Review client financials from bookkeepers to identify corrections, missing documents, and adjustments needed before filing
  • Ensure accurate treatment of basis, distributions, and other entity-specific tax considerations
  • Input data into tax preparation software with a thorough understanding of the tax implications behind each entry
  • Collaborate with the bookkeeping team to close out client books ahead of tax season
  • Analyze balance sheets and profit and loss statements to ensure tax readiness
  • Maintain organized records and documentation for all tax-related work
  • Communicate professionally with the client and internal team regarding tax matters and outstanding requirements
  • Complete assigned tasks accurately and within deadlines

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in U.S. tax preparation, specifically with partnerships and S-corps
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. tax law, including basis calculations, distributions, and entity taxation
  • Equivalent of a U.S. accounting degree
  • Ability to analyze balance sheets and profit and loss statements for tax readiness
  • Clear written and spoken English communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment
  • Must use dual monitors while working
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and professional home office setup
  • Computer requirements:
    • Minimum 8GB RAM
    • Minimum 2.46 GHz quad-core processor
