E-Commerce Sales & Social Media Specialist

Job Overview

Our client is a growing Australian e-commerce business specializing in products and supplies for the beekeeping industry. They are seeking a creative and commercially minded Sales & Social Media Specialist to help drive online sales performance while building a stronger direct brand presence across digital channels. The primary objective of this role is to help the business transition from a heavy reliance on third-party marketplaces (like eBay) toward a robust, owned direct-to-consumer (DTC) e-commerce model through conversion-focused social media campaigns and sales channel optimization.

Schedule

  • Flexible scheduling to be completed during standard business hours in Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) (20 hours per week)

Responsibilities

E-Commerce & Sales Management (Channel Optimization)

  • Listing Management: Manage and optimize product listings across eBay and the company’s native online store to ensure data accuracy and cohesive branding.
  • Inventory & Pricing Integrity: Maintain up-to-date product descriptions, pricing matrices, and visual asset presentations across all platforms.
  • Conversion Mapping: Monitor online storefront analytics to identify friction points and unlock opportunities to improve conversion rates and customer engagement.

Social Media Content & Digital Marketing

  • Performance Content Creation: Produce engaging, conversion-focused content for TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram that moves beyond static advertising to leverage video trends.
  • Traffic Generation: Develop and launch target campaigns engineered to channel organic social traffic away from marketplaces and directly onto the company website.
  • Ecosystem Scheduling: Maintain and deploy a structured social media calendar across all active channels to ensure brand consistency.

Performance Tracking & Collaboration

  • Data-Driven Iteration: Track and analyze key performance metrics across e-commerce channels and social platforms, adjusting marketing strategies based on measurable ROAS, engagement, and traffic.
  • Cross-Functional Sync: Coordinate directly with the web development team to ensure social campaigns align seamlessly with website landing pages and technical capabilities.
  • Growth Advisory: Collaborate with the business owner to pitch proactive branding and sales initiatives that support the 12-month goal of reducing marketplace dependency.

Requirements

  • E-Commerce Footprint: Proven experience managing multi-channel digital sales, specifically across eBay and independent online stores.
  • Social Media Literacy: Documented capability in creating social media content that drives both organic engagement and performance sales.
  • Platform Mastery: Strong, native understanding of the underlying algorithms, video layouts, and distribution strategies for TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Analytical Approach: An analytical mindset comfortable tracking digital marketing funnels, traffic acquisition sources, and consumer sales data.
  • Communication & Autonomy: Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with a self-motivated approach to remote task management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting niche e-commerce consumer goods, agriculture/supplies brands, or traditional retail businesses.
  • Background in execution of direct-to-consumer (DTC) scaling strategies and growth marketing funnels.

Independent Contractor Perks

  • Permanent work from home
  • Immediate hiring
