Job Overview

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Hydraulic Services Estimator to provide dedicated remote support for fire protection project estimation. This role involves interpreting complex plans and utilizing industry-specific software to ensure accurate project scoping and pricing.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM AEST (20 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Perform technical take-offs using Ground Plan software based on specific project drawings.
• Drafting & Design: Convert rough sketches and verbal instructions into accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, and project managers to gather specifications and incorporate feedback.
• Ensure all designs and drafted plans meet local building regulations, industry standards, and structural guidelines.Calculations & Estimates: 
• Download and analyze fire-specific construction drawings from Estimate One.
• Calculate and price required materials and labor for comprehensive job quotes.
• Interpret complex architectural and hydraulic construction plans.
• Determine fluid runs and hydraulic requirements for fire safety systems.
• Identify and list key job components to ensure accurate project scoping.
• Collaborate with the Australian team to refine estimations and software inputs.
• Assist with high-volume project take-offs during busy cycles.
• Report directly to the project lead or business owner.

Requirements

• Background in drafting or hydraulic engineering with ability to read construction plans.
• Experience or proficiency with Ground Plan and Estimate One software preferred.
• University degree in Civil Engineering or related technical field.
• Knowledge of Australian construction standards and technical terminology.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills for precise quantity surveying.
• High level of English proficiency for technical documentation.
• Proven experience in construction estimation or takeoff roles.
