Client Overview
A well-established residential plumbing company in Sydney specializing in small units, new builds, and townhouses. This growing team of four is ready to modernize their processes and scale their operations by bringing systematic efficiency to their project workflows.
Schedule
- Part-time: 20 hours per week.
- Flexibility: Hours are flexible between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM AEST [Sydney Time].
- Onboarding Note: Day 1 begins at 9:00 AM Sydney Time.
Responsibilities
- BOQ Preparation: Prepare highly accurate bills of quantities (BOQ) for residential construction projects, including small units, new builds, and townhouses.
- Material Takeoffs: Create comprehensive bills of materials (BOM) for ongoing and upcoming construction projects.
- Plan Extraction: Work directly from architectural plans and technical drawings to extract precise material and labor requirements.
- Quality & Process Control: Support quality improvement initiatives through precise quantity assessments and contribute to process optimization across multiple active projects.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate directly with the business owner on project requirements, timeline updates, and deliverables.
- Deadline Management: Maintain rigorous accuracy standards while meeting flexible deadlines across ongoing projects.
Requirements
- Industry Experience: Proven experience as a quantity surveyor within a residential construction background.
- Market Knowledge: Strong familiarity with Australian construction standards, building codes, and local residential building practices.
- Methodology Mastery: Advanced expertise in BOQ preparation, measurement protocols, and takeoff methodologies.
- Autonomy: Ability to work completely independently from complex architectural plans and technical specifications.
Qualifications
- A degree in Civil Engineering or formal Quantity Surveying qualifications is considered a major bonus.
- Proficiency with modern QS software systems, estimation platforms, and digital measurement tools is highly helpful.
- Previous experience collaborating with Australian residential construction or trade companies is a distinct advantage.
