Job Overview

We are seeking a confident and senior-level Civil & Structural Drafter to support a fast-paced engineering team in producing high-quality construction documentation across structural and civil scopes. This is a production-focused role where you will work directly with engineers to convert design intent, calculations, and markups into accurate IFC (Issued for Construction) drawing sets with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate has strong AutoCAD expertise, engineering qualifications, familiarity with Australian Standards, and proven experience delivering accurate, buildable documentation efficiently. Experience with structural steel detailing, civil works, and Australian engineering projects will be highly regarded.

Schedule

  • 20 hours per week
  • Flexible schedule between Wednesday to Friday
  • Brisbane, Australia business hours (AEST)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed IFC construction drawings based on engineer markups, sketches, instructions, and calculations
  • Produce drafting documentation across structural and civil scopes including slabs, retaining walls, footings, steel frames, and associated civil works
  • Create accurate technical drawings using AutoCAD and Revit (preferred)
  • Interpret engineering details and translate them into buildable, construction-ready documentation
  • Revise and update drawings based on engineer feedback and project changes
  • Coordinate closely with engineers to ensure technical accuracy and timely project delivery
  • Maintain organized drawing files and documentation standards
  • Support rapid project turnaround timelines while maintaining high-quality drafting output
  • Ensure drawings comply with relevant Australian Standards and project requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in civil and structural drafting
  • Engineering degree, drafting qualification, or relevant technical certification
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD with experience producing IFC construction drawing sets
  • Proven experience supporting civil and structural engineering teams
  • Ability to accurately interpret engineer markups, calculations, and technical instructions
  • Experience with structural steel framing and detailing
  • Familiarity with Australian Standards and engineering documentation requirement
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced engineering environment

Nice-to-Have Requirements

  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Experience working on Australian engineering or construction projects
  • Familiarity with Queensland regulations and local construction standards
  • Experience drafting civil infrastructure projects including drainage and roads
  • Exposure to tender or contract documentation support
