Overview
Join a fast-paced logistics operation operating around the clock, which relies on a highly organized dispatch team to maintain efficient shipment coordination, strong carrier relationships, and reliable delivery performance. As a Dispatcher and key operational contact, you will be responsible for dispatching drivers, negotiating carrier rates, managing shipment updates, and ensuring timely delivery across multiple shifts. This remote role is ideal for someone experienced in freight coordination who thrives in a dynamic environment requiring multitasking, problem-solving, and close collaboration with drivers and internal teams.
Schedule
- Full-time (40 hours per week) - Rotating shifts aligned with the Dallas timezone (CST/CDT) to support 24-hour operations:
- Shift 1: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Shift 2: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Shift 3: Overnight/early morning until the next shift begins
Responsibilities
- Handle inbound calls from carriers and negotiate rates and shipment terms
- Dispatch drivers and coordinate pickup and delivery schedules
- Maintain communication with drivers and carriers throughout shipment progress
- Track and trace driver locations to ensure on-time delivery performance
- Monitor shipment statuses and proactively address delays or operational issues
- Ensure smooth transition and communication between dispatch shifts
- Collect, verify, and organize required shipment paperwork
- Forward completed documentation to the billing department accurately and promptly
- Maintain accurate shipment records and operational updates within the CRM system
- Troubleshoot shipment, scheduling, or documentation issues as they arise
- Provide timely updates to internal teams and external partners
- Ensure professional communication with carriers, drivers, and stakeholders
Requirements
- Experience in logistics dispatching, freight brokerage, or carrier coordination
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Excel
- High attention to detail when handling shipment records and documentation
- Ability to work rotating schedules, including evening and overnight shifts
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Preferred:
- Experience working in 24/7 logistics operations
- Familiarity with freight tracking systems or transportation management software
