Join a leading healthcare provider in the skilled nursing sector as a remote Staff Accountant. This role offers the opportunity to manage complex accrual accounting and financial reconciliations using advanced Excel tools and streamlined digital processes. You will work independently, following detailed templates and video tutorials to ensure the highest level of accuracy in all financial deliverables. • Mon-Fri 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Eastern Time

Responsibilities

• Perform GL reconciliations, including balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
• Manage accruals, deferrals, and prepaid expense entries accurately.
• Work with accounting software to maintain financial records and ensure data integrity.
• Analyze financial data using Excel templates to identify variances and discrepancies.
• Follow documented procedures and standard operating processes to complete assigned accounting tasks.
• Review financial information proactively and flag any inconsistencies or issues requiring attention.

Must-Have Requirements

• Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles, including accruals, deferrals, and prepaids.
• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and pivot tables.
• Meticulous attention to detail with commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
• Full-time availability during Eastern Time business hours.
• Ability to work independently while following detailed instructions and video tutorials.
• Critical thinking skills to analyze data and identify issues without constant supervision.
• Strong grasp of US GAAP accounting standards.
• Excellent communication skills to report findings and ask clarifying questions.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

• Experience with Sage Intacct accounting software.
• Background in healthcare accounting, particularly skilled nursing facilities or long-term care.
• Familiarity with healthcare billing systems such as NCS.
• Understanding of healthcare metrics, including census, PPD (patient per day), and payer variance concepts.
