Local SEO Specialist

Responsibilities:

On-Page SEO:

Content Optimization: Ensure every piece of content on our website is optimized for target keywords, readability, and user engagement. Work closely with the content team to create SEO-friendly content that resonates with our audience. Regularly update and refresh existing content to keep it relevant and aligned with the latest SEO practices.
Meta Tags & Headers: Craft compelling and keyword-rich meta titles and descriptions that boost click-through rates. Optimize headers (H1, H2, etc.) to ensure proper keyword placement and enhance content structure. Monitor and adjust meta tags and headers based on performance data.
Internal Linking: Develop a strategic internal linking structure to improve site navigation and distribute page authority. Create links within new content to existing pages to enhance user experience and keep visitors engaged longer. Conduct regular audits to identify and fix broken links or orphaned pages.
External Linking: Incorporate high-quality, relevant external links within our content to provide additional value to readers. Ensure external links point to authoritative and credible sources to enhance the credibility of our content. Regularly check and update external links to ensure they remain relevant and functional.
Keyword Research: Conduct thorough keyword research to identify high-potential search terms that align with our business goals. Use tools like Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs, and SEMrush to uncover keyword opportunities. Analyze competitors’ keywords to identify gaps and opportunities for our content strategy.


Off-Page SEO:

Link Building: Develop and execute link-building strategies to acquire high-quality backlinks from authoritative websites. Utilize various tactics such as guest posting, broken link building, and partnerships to build a strong backlink profile. Track and analyze the performance of link-building campaigns to ensure they are driving desired results.
Outreach Campaigns: Build and maintain relationships with influencers, bloggers, and webmasters to promote our content and secure backlinks. Develop and pitch compelling content ideas to external sites that align with their audience and our SEO goals. Monitor outreach performance and adjust strategies as needed to maximize effectiveness.
Social Media Integration: Leverage social media platforms to boost the visibility of our content and drive traffic to our website. Collaborate with the social media team to ensure our SEO goals align with our overall social media strategy. Track social media metrics to measure the impact of social shares on our SEO efforts.
Brand Mentions: Monitor online mentions of our brand across various platforms and capitalize on them to enhance our online reputation. Engage with audiences mentioning our brand to foster positive relationships and encourage backlinks. Use tools like Google Alerts and Mention to stay on top of brand mentions and related conversations.


Technical SEO:

Site Audits: Perform regular technical SEO audits to identify and fix issues that hinder search engine crawling and indexing. Analyze site architecture and make recommendations for improvements to enhance SEO performance. Use tools like Screaming Frog, DeepCrawl, and Google Search Console to conduct comprehensive audits.
Page Speed Optimization: Ensure fast load times and optimal performance on all devices by optimizing images, leveraging browser caching, and minimizing code. Monitor page speed using tools like Google PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix, and implement necessary improvements. Work with the development team to address technical issues impacting site speed.
Structured Data: Implement schema markup to improve search engine understanding of our content and enhance SERP features like rich snippets. Regularly review and update structured data to ensure it aligns with the latest best practices and guidelines. Use tools like Google’s Structured Data Testing Tool to validate and test schema markup.
Mobile Optimization: Guarantee a seamless mobile user experience by ensuring our site is fully responsive and adheres to mobile-first indexing practices. Conduct regular mobile usability tests to identify and fix any issues that might affect the user experience. Stay updated on mobile SEO trends and best practices to ensure our site remains competitive in mobile search results.


Local SEO:

Google My Business (GMB): Optimize and manage our GMB listing to enhance local search visibility and drive foot traffic to our physical locations. Regularly update business information, respond to reviews, and post updates to engage with the local community. Monitor and analyze GMB insights to identify opportunities for improvement.
Local Citations: Ensure consistent NAP (Name, Address, Phone Number) information across all local directories and citation sites. Identify and rectify any inconsistencies or inaccuracies in local citations. Leverage high-quality local directories to improve local search rankings.
Localized Content: Create and optimize content tailored to local audiences, including blog posts, landing pages, and other web content. Incorporate locally relevant keywords and phrases to attract nearby customers. Highlight local events, news, and collaborations to build stronger community ties and boost local relevance.
Local Link Building: Develop relationships with local businesses, organizations, and influencers to earn local backlinks. Sponsor local events or participate in community activities to generate backlinks and brand awareness. Track the performance of local link-building efforts and adjust strategies to maximize impact.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience in the mental health or healthcare industry.
● Fluent in English
● Familiarity with PR link-building platforms like HARO and Qwoted.
● Familiarity with Canva
● Proven experience in local SEO, including GBP management, backlink building, and
citation optimization.
● Strong understanding of on-page and off-page SEO best practices and technical SEO.
● Proficiency in SEO tools and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search
Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs).
● Excellent content creation skills, with experience in blog writing and content optimization.
● Strong analytical skills and the ability to derive actionable insights from performance
data.
● Experience with outreach and relationship building for link acquisition.
● Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic web development concepts.
● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
