Bookkeeper
Role Overview:
We are seeking detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeepers to support ongoing financial and bookkeeping operations for small to mid-sized businesses. This is a remote, part-time role requiring approximately 30 hours per week with a flexible schedule, provided there is some overlap with the US California timezone for collaboration and communication.
The ideal candidate has hands-on bookkeeping experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to accurately manage financial records across multiple systems and workflows. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, adapting to changing priorities, and maintaining accuracy during high-volume periods such as tax season.

Key Responsibilities:

Categorize and reconcile business expenses from PDF bank statements

Clean, organize, and maintain financial data using spreadsheets

Perform bookkeeping tasks using accounting software such as NuCash, AccountEdge, and QuickBooks

Enter and code financial transactions accurately and efficiently

Follow and implement company-specific bookkeeping procedures and workflows

Assist with quarter-by-quarter financial reporting and record preparation

Support ongoing financial data management and documentation

Adapt to varying workloads and deadlines, particularly during busy tax periods

Communicate professionally with internal stakeholders regarding bookkeeping updates and clarifications

Perform additional bookkeeping and administrative tasks as assigned
Qualifications:

Previous bookkeeping experience supporting small to mid-sized businesses

Familiarity with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, NuCash, AccountEdge, or similar systems

Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial data management

Proficiency in spreadsheets and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace applications

High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial categorization

Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to work independently in a remote environment
