Global Operations Manager (Programs & Events)

Overview:

This role supports a mission-driven, women-focused non-profit organisation that facilitates structured mentoring walk events across various international locations. Established in 2016, the organisation has empowered thousands of participants throughout Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Canada, and the UAE, with further global expansion planned for 2026.

The position is part of a fully remote team and offers flexible working arrangements based on event schedules and stakeholder requirements. The organisation delivers short-format mentoring walk events that connect aspiring professionals with experienced female leaders for one-hour career-focused discussions, hosting more than 110 events annually across multiple countries.

The Global Operations Manager (Programs & Events) plays a key role in ensuring the success, consistency, and expansion of all event locations. The position oversees coordination between headquarters and local teams, manages partnerships, supports operational processes, and maintains high standards across all regions. 

Schedule:

  • Flexible during client business hours; AEST/AEDT Time Zone

  • Approximately 30 hours per week across a 7-day operational cycle (primarily weekdays with some early morning/early evening requirements)

Responsibilities:

Location Management (60%)

Responsible for ensuring each location operates effectively and continues to grow:

  • Track participation data and develop strategies to improve engagement per location
  • Act as the main point of contact for local teams across all regions
  • Support onboarding, setup, and ongoing management of local leaders and coordinators
  • Provide regular reporting on participation and engagement trends, and implement improvement plans where needed
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new local leaders and coordinators
  • Support the launch of new locations from setup through to full operational maturity
  • Manage relationships with partners and ensure delivery of agreed commitments
  • Facilitate regular virtual touchpoints including check-ins, meetups, and coordination sessions

Event Management (20%)

Oversee event execution and act as escalation point for issues:

  • Monitor participation targets for upcoming events
  • Manage the overall event calendar and scheduling process
  • Support local coordinators with clear guidance and expectations
  • Step in operationally where required to resolve gaps or issues
  • Respond to queries from local teams and provide timely support

Internal Events Administration and Operations (20%)

Oversee internal systems, data, and operational processes:

  • Manage event administrators responsible for platforms, tools, and data systems
  • Maintain and improve event-related technology and data processes
  • Run weekly internal operations meetings and prepare relevant updates
  • Maintain event calendars and monitor budgets per location
  • Oversee operational administration including contracts, payments, and invoicing
  • Ensure timely handling of all inbound email enquiries

Process Improvement and Optimization (Ongoing)

Continuously improve operational efficiency and performance:

  • Collaborate with local teams to improve independence and execution capability
  • Monitor KPIs and identify areas for improvement
  • Recommend and implement process, cost, and performance improvements
  • Maintain operational best practices and quality standards across all locations

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4+ years’ experience in events management and/or operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for senior stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving ability with follow-through and accountability
  • Commercial awareness, including basic financial and operational reporting
  • Comfortable using technology platforms and AI tools; quick to learn new systems
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Strong collaboration and team coordination skills
  • Experience in women-focused initiatives or events is an advantage but not required

Working Arrangements:

  • Fully remote role with performance review every six months
  • Reports to the General Manager
  • Minimum one month notice required for resignation
