Role Overview:
This position focuses on generating new business opportunities through outbound B2B cold calling to UK-based small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Using a provided lead list, the role involves engaging prospects in consultative conversations to understand their parcel shipping needs and build interest in courier services. Key responsibilities include gathering intelligence on current carriers, parcel volumes, and decision timelines, then accurately logging call outcomes and next steps in a shared tracking system. The role also requires scheduling follow-up calls, managing lead nurturing efforts for prospects not yet ready to commit, and continuously collaborating on refining call scripts and outreach strategies based on real results.
Schedule:
- Mondays to Thursdays, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 to 4:00 pm (UK Time, 20 hours per week)
Scope:
- Part-time role (approximately 20–25 hours per week) with potential to transition to full-time based on performance
- Calls made via a VoIP platform using a UK-based phone number
- Lead lists provided by the client; no lead sourcing required
- Performance-based commission structure to be discussed for the right candidate
- Focus exclusively on UK-based SMEs involved in domestic and international parcel shipping
Responsibilities:
- Conduct outbound B2B cold calls to UK-based SMEs using a provided lead list to generate qualified appointments
- Engage prospects in consultative conversations to identify their parcel shipping needs and create interest in the company's courier services
- Gather key intelligence during calls — such as current carriers used, parcel volumes, and review timelines — to support future follow-up efforts
- Accurately log call outcomes, prospect details, and next steps in a shared spreadsheet or tracking system
- Schedule follow-up calls and manage lead nurturing cadences to re-engage prospects who were not initially interested
- Collaborate with the business owner to refine call scripts, objection handling, and outreach strategies based on results
Requirements:
- Proven experience in B2B cold calling or telemarketing, ideally within a service-based or logistics-related industry
- Strong ability to handle objections and turn rejections into fact-finding opportunities
- Self-motivated with the discipline to maintain high call volumes and consistent output in a remote environment
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
- High level of attention to detail when recording call data and prospect information
