AI Automation Developer

Job Overview

Seeking a technically sophisticated "builder" to design and deploy AI systems. This is not a conventional IT support, web admin, or marketing role. Instead, you will create the systems, agents, workflows, and dashboards, that allow those functions to be scaled and supervised through AI. You must be able to move from an initial idea to a working, maintainable system.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Sydney time, with 1-hour unpaid break (8 hours per day/40 hours per week)

Core Objectives

  • Assist with recurring business tasks and reduce manual workload.

  • Draft, classify, and analyze legal and operational documents.

  • Interact with internal business systems, databases, and APIs.

  • Operate through secure, human-in-the-loop approval workflows.

  • Improve business consistency, quality, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • AI System Design: Identify automation opportunities and build agents for legal research, document drafting, and task tracking.

  • LLM Management: Work with both hosted (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini) and local/self-hosted models (Ollama, LM Studio).

  • RAG & Development: Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, and memory systems.

  • Deployment & DevOps: Use GitHub for version control and deploy systems via platforms like Vercel, Supabase, Docker, or AWS.

  • Workflow Engineering: Build complex automations using n8n, Make, or Zapier to integrate with tools like Microsoft 365, WordPress, and CRMs.

  • Security & Governance: Implement safeguards for confidentiality, data handling, and audit trails.

Required Skills & Experience

  • AI Tools: Hands-on experience with AI agents, local LLMs (Ollama), and agentic frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, etc.).

  • Coding: Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or Next.js.

  • Infrastructure: Experience with GitHub, APIs, webhooks, and Docker.

  • Automation: Practical knowledge of n8n, Make, or similar platforms.

  • Mindset: A practical, commercially focused, and implementation-driven approach.

Independent Contractor Perks

  • Health insurance in eligible locations

  • Permanent work from home

  • Immediate hiring
