SEO & AI Optimization Specialist

Overview

Our client is looking for a proactive SEO & AI Optimization Specialist who understands modern SEO and enjoys using AI tools to improve workflows and website performance. This role is ideal for someone with strong SEO fundamentals who can think critically, troubleshoot issues independently, and use AI as a productivity tool while still maintaining quality control and accuracy. You’ll work closely with the client to support SEO initiatives, optimize websites, improve content structure, and help scale a growing digital marketing agency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-page SEO optimization including: Keyword research and search intent analysis, Meta title and meta description optimization, H1/H2 structure optimization, Internal linking improvements, Content structure optimization
  • Assist with technical SEO tasks such as: Schema markup implementation, Crawlability and indexing improvements, Website performance optimization, Troubleshooting SEO-related website issues, Identifying and resolving SEO conflicts, formatting issues, or leftover code remnants
  • Work directly inside WordPress websites to: Publish and optimize content, Update SEO elements and page layouts, Troubleshoot implementation issues, Support website updates and migrations
  • Utilize AI tools such as: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Other SEO automation tools
  • QA and validate AI-generated outputs before implementation to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Collaborate with the client on SEO strategies, workflow improvements, and optimization opportunities
  • Maintain clear communication through: Daily updates, End-of-day reports, Task tracking, Proactive communication regarding blockers or schedule changes
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks with minimal supervision

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with SEO strategy and implementation
  • Strong understanding of: On-page SEO, Technical SEO, Search intent optimization, Structured data/schema markup, Website performance best practices
  • Proven experience working inside WordPress environments
  • Ability to identify SEO issues independently and recommend solutions proactively
  • Strong understanding of how to effectively use AI tools while validating outputs for accuracy and quality
  • Experience using tools such as: Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Moz, Ahrefs (preferred)
  • Ability to troubleshoot website issues including: Broken formatting, Improper schema implementation, SEO conflicts affecting site performance or appearance, Leftover code or layout issues
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and accountability
  • Comfortable working in a flexible remote environment with minimal micromanagement
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced digital marketing agency environment

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with: GoHighLevel, Funnel building, Landing page optimization, Paid ads (Google/Facebook), Conversion rate optimization, and Automation workflows
  • Previous digital marketing agency experience is a plus
