The Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Grant Writer to support our fundraising and development efforts. This role is critical in securing funding through well-researched, high-quality grant applications and proposals.

You will play a key role in identifying funding opportunities, crafting compelling narratives, and ensuring successful execution and compliance of awarded grants. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who combines strong writing skills with strategic thinking and a passion for social impact.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, Flexible schedule (40 hours per week)
Client Timezone: Australia – New South Wales alignment

What You Will Do

Grant Research & Strategy

  • Identify and research relevant grant opportunities at local, state, and national levels
  • Analyze funding requirements and align opportunities with organizational goals
  • Track deadlines, eligibility criteria, and submission requirements

Proposal Development

  • Write clear, persuasive, and tailored grant proposals and applications
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather program data, budgets, and impact metrics
  • Develop compelling narratives that communicate mission, outcomes, and value

Grant Management & Execution

  • Support the execution of awarded grants, ensuring compliance with funder requirements
  • Coordinate reporting, acquittals, and documentation
  • Monitor grant timelines, deliverables, and milestones

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with program teams to ensure alignment between funding and delivery
  • Maintain communication with funders, partners, and stakeholders when required
  • Contribute to broader fundraising and development initiatives

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or proposal development
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences
  • Strong understanding of grant processes, funding structures, and compliance requirements
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in nonprofit, social impact, or community-focused organizations
  • Exposure to donor relations or stakeholder engagement
  • Familiarity with fundraising strategies and reporting processes
