Overview
The Video Editor is a digital-first storyteller responsible for creating high-energy, high-performing motion content across the company’s social and digital platforms. Reporting to a manager, you will transform raw footage into thumb-stopping assets that drive engagement and conversion. You operate with creative autonomy to interpret content strategies and are expected to make independent decisions on pacing, music, and visual hooks. You aren't just an editor; you are a student of the feed, obsessed with performance metrics and able to pivot creative execution based on what is trending in real-time.

Responsibilities
- Execute the end-to-end editing of short-form video (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts) with a strict focus on "hooks" and "retention."
- Actively scout social platforms to identify emerging trends, transitions, and meme formats, rapidly applying them to the company’s content.
- Create multiple versions of a single ad concept—testing different opening frames, captions, and CTAs to see what drives the best ROAS (Return on Ad Spend).
- Manage technical exports for various platforms, ensuring all content is optimized for mobile-first viewing (9:16) with clear, accessible captions.
- Collaborate with the Brand Creative & Digital Marketing team to ensure all outsourced or "lo-fi" footage is elevated to meet the company’s premium brand aesthetic.
- Maintain an organized digital workspace and server, ensuring all project files and assets are easily accessible for team collaboration.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience editing specifically for social media or performance marketing. (APPLICATIONS WITH PORTFOLIOS WILL BE PRIORITIZED)
- You understand the difference between a "beautiful" video and a "performing" video, and you prefer the latter.
- You have a deep understanding of social media "grammar"—pacing, text overlays, and sound design.
- You are a heavy user of TikTok and Instagram; you know what’s trending before it hits the mainstream.
- Basic knowledge of colour grading and sound mixing to ensure "lo-fi" content still feels professional.
- Comfortable working in a remote, fast-paced environment with a global team across multiple time zones.
Deliverables & KPIs
- Delivery of 5–10 high-quality, platform-ready video assets per week, which will likely increase over time.
- Achievement of target "view-through" rates and engagement metrics on organic and paid social channels.
- 100% precision in aspect ratios, brand colour grading, and captioning across all deliverables.
- Actioning reporting insights from Digital Marketing, to continuously evolve creative variations.
